Life in broseley

Broseley is an attractive small town surrounded by lovely hilly and wooded countryside, and there are many pleasant walks to be enjoyed on the outskirts of this semi-rural area. The town originated in a Saxon clearance within the Royal forests which covered most of the Ironbridge Gorge, and grew into a thriving industrial settlement at the beginning of the 17th century.

Over the next 200 years Broseley and the surrounding area thrived and this early industrial activity has resulted in a settlement of remarkable character. Old and new properties are nestled together offering something for everyone, from bungalows, to apartments, terraced cottages to larger detached homes.

Today, Broseley has a strong community spirit and a thriving High Street with many well established shops, including Bakeries, Greengrocers, Butchers and a mini supermarket which meet most day to day requirements. There are good local nursery, primary and secondary schools in the area and the town is also well served by a post office, dentist, doctors surgery, and a library.

Broseley is approximately two miles from the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, and approximately 15 minutes drive from Telford town centre with it’s vast range of shops, excellent range of leisure facilities including an Ice Rink, a bowling alley and a cinema complex. There is also a large town park with play and recreational facilities, and ‘Wonderland’, a Nursery Rhyme themed attraction for younger children.

There are regular bus services from Broseley to Telford and Bridgnorth, and Telford itself has excellent transport links including the railway and the M54 motorway providing access to Birmingham, Shrewsbury and beyond.
